Let's see, as I posted before I got a pool position (kinda like on-call) at Osborn and I start on Monday. Most people are under the impression that healthcare careers are in demand, however almost only nurses are in demand. Finding a job in imaging (x-ray, CAT Scan, MRI) is really hard right now, I'd say maybe a little over 50% of my graduating class have found jobs and we graduated over 2 months ago! Plus, most of the jobs that are available are only pool. I've applied everywhere and only got an interview for Osborn and a couple travelling agencies (different story). So imagine my surprise today when I got a call from Mercy Gilbert's HR department wanting to schedule an interview! I was so excited! I'm nervous because when she was trying to set up a time for me to come in, there were hardly ANY times available which makes me wonder if I'm up against the entire state of Arizona! So, wish me luck with my interview next Friday! I highly doubt that I'll get it and I don't want to get my hopes up but it would be awesome to work so close to home (it's about 5-10 minutes away) versus Osborn which in the morning is an hour and fifteen minute commute!

Let's see what else ... Ryan started his clinicals at Banner Baywood and is doing awesome! He's already doing the procedures and injections (which includes starting IVs). One of the radiologists grilled him the other day with really hard questions (I guess he does this to everyone new) and Ryan was able to answer all of them right! The other Nuclear Medicine techs who were in the room were shocked, as was the doctor b/c he went to the manager and told him how smart Ryan is! I'm so proud of my husband, he is SO dedicated and smart. He's an awesome example to me to better myself and work hard!
Oh and lastly, since I've been counting down the days until I can quit my job (saying I hate it would be an understatement) and I still have some PTO hours I need to use before I transfer since my new position is unbenefited, I've been giving up my hours like the food bank gives meals. I've been able to enjoy more time at home with Ryan during the day and have actually organized my house and cleaned EVERY DAY! I never had any time to do that before, Ryan actually cleaned a lot for me since I was gone all day. I've also got to go to the gym 5 days a week! It's awesome to be a normal wife who cleans and cooks and spends time with her husband! I feel like we missed out on some of the newlywed hype b/c we've never been able to have a normal newlywed's schedule, so it's fun to be able to act like a REAL married couple!

Well that's about it! Oh, and since I have a lot more time, I want to see all my long lost friends more! So let's plan a girls night or dinner/lunch date or whatever!
