December 2010

December was a crazy month for us! It started out pretty rough. My grandpa Willis had not been feeling well {he's been in congestive heart failure for many years} and we all knew that he would not be with us much longer, but it surprised us all when he rapidly deteriorated the first weekend of December. We were able to make it over to their house to see him before he left this earth and I will always cherish the special moment I had with him right before he stopped responding. He passed away early in the morning on the 7th with his sweetheart and children around him. This process was very hard, but it was also very spiritual for me. I had so many special, spiritual experiences throughout the week and I know he was and is still not far from me, as I have felt him close by. He was such an amazing example to all of those around him. He was the most Christ-like man I've ever met and I'm so grateful for the wonderful example he has set for me.

The day before my Grandpa Willis' funeral, we found out that my mom's dad - my grandpa Holman- needed a quadruple bypass. It was totally out of left field, he wasn't even having any pain. He had his surgery the day after my Grandpa Willis' funeral and has been recovering well. He had a minor set back last week when he developed a blood clot and had to be readmitted to the hospital, but he's home and doing much better now!

Macy had her 4 month doctor appointment {it was actually the other day, so it was closer to 5 months!} and she weighed 12 lbs, 10 oz. That's the 9th percentile, she's tiny! He head was 15 1/2" {5th percentile} and her height was 24 3/4" {55th percentile}. Her acid reflux has only changed in that it doesn't seem to bother her as much. She still gets her medicine 3 times a day and she still spits up A TON! The doctor isn't concerned since she's a "happy spitter" and hopefully she'll be in a higher percentile at her next check up. We just started feeding her rice cereal and it seems to help a little with the spitting up. She is so happy lately, she hardly ever fusses ... except for when it's naptime or bedtime. She cries every time! She also has started teething, so she's getting a little fussier than usual at bedtime, but she's still a really happy baby. She is also sleeping like a little champ! She sleeps anywhere from 8-12 hours at night. Did I mention how much I love this little girl!!

Messy face!

I don't know what this face is about, but it's pretty funny!
